5 phenomenal sources of knowledge for physiotherapists and kinesiotherapists

Can you get free education?

After graduating from the Faculty of physiotherapy or kinesitherapy, most of us are sentenced to self-education without which it is simply impossible to progress in career.

Self-education for the most part includes attending courses of individual techniques and eventually reading books for those who have a little more will.

Is it possible to use free knowledge bases and get proper education?

Do we, as therapists, have to pay for every specific knowledge?

Some professional and demanding techniques, such as spinal manipulation techniques or Dry needling, you simply have to pay to learn them properly.

But on basic things such as anatomy, kinesiology, the latest scientific research, biomechanics, general knowledge of the human body and many others in most cases you don't have to spend a cent on it

In the rest of this blog we will bring you 4 free sources of knowledge and 1 that you need to pay small amount of money, that have helped us to become a much better quality rehab experts !

We can't recommend enough this FREE online education!

This is the education from which we personally learned anatomy better than with the 3 years of the University!

Education is completely online and it is lead by Harvard professor who teaches anatomy, radiology and neurobiology!

Education as a rule lasts 7 weeks but since it's online, you can go through it much more freely than if it were live course. Of course, there is a need for knowledge of the English language as education is in the same.

What will you learn through education?

  • Detailed anatomy of the locomotor system
  • Histology of the locomotor system
  • The basic concepts of Radiology
  • How to recognize 5 common injuries
  • What the human body looks like inside
Note: part of this online course contains the cutting of a corpse which can significantly help you to understand and improve your knowledge of the anatomy of the human body. We would highly recommend that everyone goes through that part, but if you have sensitivity to such scenes, be careful.

Physiopedia is a Wikipedia for physical therapy and rehabilitation. This website is the largest source of online rehabilitation knowledge and is used by rehabilitation professionals around the world.

Born To Walk is a book that phenomenally explains biomechanics the human walk and the process of evolution of the same.

Author James Earls explores the mystery of our evolution and describes the mechanisms that allow us to be effective in bipedal gait

Looking at the whole body as an interconnected unit, Earls explains how we can achieve maximum efficiency of our walk and by that way to solve a good amount of problems in the locomotor system.

This book is the basis for understanding the biomechanics of gait and the biomechanics of a human in general and we highly recommend it to all experts dealing with the human movement.
